At Elan, meeting the individual needs of all children lies at the heart of our practice, delivering personalised learning, development and care to help children to get the best possible start in life. We believe this is best achieved by working in partnership with parents. Parents are encouraged to be involved in their child’s learning by contributing to their child’s learning journal and attending parent’s evenings.
Our staff are experienced and qualified, and believe children learn through play opportunities indoors and outdoors. We offer a balance of child-initiated and adult-led play based activities, and provide a rich and resourceful environment that stimulates all children, offering them a variety of choice and colourful experiences.
The children’s meals are carefully planned to ensure they are healthy and wholesome and provide at least 5 potions of fruit and veg every day. We have a full time chef who serves a freshly prepared hot lunch and an afternoon tea every day. Fresh fruit snacks are provided in between meals and breakfast is served every morning from when we open until 8.30am.
At Elan, children are always valued as unique individuals and our aim is for them to be happy and progress to their full potential before starting school.
For a small fee, additional activities are on offer provided by outside agencies. These are Little Kickers, Yoga and Physical Education. The fee is paid directly to the provider and the activities are run in small groups of 7-11 children. One of our Nursery Practitioners will always be present during these sessions.
